Our Stanton Middle School Cross Country team had their first meet of the season this past Thursday. Our runners ran a great race with multiple top 10 finishers.
This week, our Wildcats head to Hancock on Tuesday to compete in the Hancock Invite at 4:00. We wish our team the very best as they challenge themselves, the hills at the Maasto Hiihto trails, and the competition! GO WILDCATS!

Our middle school girls' basketball team had their season opener at home Thursday afternoon. They took on the Jeffers Jets and played a great game securing the win with a score of 33 to 18. Way to go Wildcats!
This week, our Wildcats take on Dollar Bay Monday at 4:30. They then travel down to Baraga on Thursday for a 4:00 game. We wish them the very best in their upcoming games! GO WILDCATS!

Girls' middle school basketball starts this coming Monday, August 25th. Practice will run from 3:00 to 4:30. Basketball is open to all 6th-8th-grade girls. Please make sure that you have your sports physical turned in to the office.
Our new coach, Nora Holmes, is excited to work with our student-athletes. Practice times will vary this first week, but will then take place immediately after school, beginning September 2nd.
Practice times for the week of August 25:
Monday 3:00- 4:30
Tuesday 3:00-4:30
Wednesday 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Thursday 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Hi,
I'm Nora Holmes, and I'm so excited to be coaching basketball this season! I've worked as an assistant manager at a coffee shop for the past two years, and I also work as a storefront associate at a local clothing boutique. In the summer, I love watching sunsets, spending time out on the lake, and being with friends and family. Basketball has always been a passion of mine, and I can't wait to share that enthusiasm with my team this year!

Tomorrow is Kindergarten Round-Up! Please bring in your child's registration if you haven't already. The health department will also be here to do vision and hearing screening. For your child to begin kindergarten we will need the registration, a copy of the birth certificate and immunization records or a waiver from the health department.
Plan to drop off your child with Mrs. Marcotte at 8:30 near the front office. They will tour the school and see what a day in kindergarten looks like. We will serve them pizza, or they can bring their own lunch. After lunch they will learn about bus safety then head home on the bus with Mr. Rebman and Mr. Dale. If you choose not to have your child ride, please let us know. Your children will arrive home sometime between noon and 1:00.
